In baseball, speed and agility are important on both sides of the field. On offense, speed is critical in running the bases. Speed is equally important in the field when hit balls must be defended. Agility, the ability to change direction quickly and efficiently, is used both in fielding and running bases.
Speed & Agility Training at The Training Arena can help your child in all of these areas: foot speed, explosiveness, flexibility, lateral agility, core development, hand/eye coordination, and hitting power. Speed & Agility training is NOT running and it is NOT weight training! It is a plyometric program using medicine balls, jump boxes, agility ladders, dot mat drills, jump rope, hurdles, cone drills, and reaction balls.
Plyometric training is designed to develop explosive power, speed, and agility for baseball players:
